Of the 160 FRED series held in the past three years in Minnesota, about 2/3 have provided meals to the fathers/families in attendance. Excuse the pun, but many of you seem to feel "If you feed them, they will come." Some FRED host organizations have funds to pay for the meals, while others have been successful in getting local organizations (e.g., service clubs, volunteer fire companies, church groups, & local businesses) to provide meals - and some others have received funding from local Target and Walmart stores that they've used to provide meals.

We've also had very successful FRED events where meals were not provided. Having meals or snacks is clearly a decision that's up to FRED host organizations.

But please share your thoughts about the importance of providing meals/snacks at FRED events - and also share any interesting stories about how you might have arranged for meals.
